Business computing is the application of diverse technologies to meet the needs of business information. It is a combination of the fields of computer science and business and can include aspects of advanced computing. Graduates may choose to pursue careers in the IT or business world that deal with technological or computing issues.

The course is deeply rooted in the workplace. Guest lecturers from the field of engineering and business partners provide their perspectives on real-world business challenges. You will also have the opportunity to work on live briefs, which apply your technical knowledge to real-world challenges. You will learn a broad range of business and IT capabilities over the course starting from the development of software applications to analyzing data with the intention of offering innovative solutions to companies.

During the first year of your studies, you will investigate subjects like marketing and accounting. You will also gain hands-on experience with the latest computing and IT technologies. You’ll develop your IT and business skills to prepare for an internship year. This can be on campus or in one of our numerous partner organizations across Kent and London. Upon graduation, you’ll have an unusual mix of business and IT skills which can lead to a wide variety of career paths, including web development, software development, helpdesk support and data analytics. Former graduates have worked for companies like Accenture, BP FDM and Spotify.
